Tim: We have sent two team to Kazakhstan since last Fall. We are working with a friend and leader of the Kazakh team

. So far we have been to two cities. One of our members is praying about relocating to one of those cities to be part of a team.
We had three stateside units at our church last week to learn more about work among Kazakhs and other peoples in country.

The KazAlliance will meet at Grove in March 2011. We will also be hosting the “Along the Silk Road” exhibition that month in Richmond. Senior Pastor is also committed to lead an all workers retreat in 2012 (not just Kazakh people teams) in country.

Best to say we are exploring, building relationships, supporting current workers, and learning how we can engage long term.

This is this congregation's first real focused engagement anywhere among a UPG. We are still taking baby steps.

Thanks, -- Jerry

What will be the nature of your partnership? What are the critical issues you all will face? What kind of support do you need?

Our congregation is partnering in Central Asia and has plans already in place into 2012.

In March 2011, we will be hosting an alliance meeting for those working among the Kazakh people.

I have spent three summers in Mongolia during the last 5 years. I have been praying for God to give me another opportuity to continue that ministry but the opportunities have not arisen. Last week as I was talking to the Lord, I had said that i didn't feel like I would have another opportunity to return to Mongolia. Last night at dinner, our waitress was from Mongolia. I used my limited Mongolian to carry on a short conversation with her in her native tongue. She comes from the same town that I served in while in Mongolia. She is a Christian, married to an Ameerican who doesn't go to church. During our discussion, she invited another Mongolian who worked in the restaurant to meet us. They told me that there are a number of Mongolians in this area (the local association did not know of any Mongolians locally). I am praying that God will use me to start a house church/simple church among the Mongolians in Wichita, Kansas.
